I created a photo manipulation test using real photographs of my great grandad (who we loosely based our main character Arthur on) and his wife Millie.
Firstly taking the photo into photoshop and separating the picture into layers, which were the people and the background. After I had to digitally paint in the missing parts of the background.
Taking these images into After Effects, I put them as 3D layers and added a camera so I could move around the picture. This also gave the pictures more depth. I then used the puppet warp to create some subtle movements in the people.
