Week 5 - 11th Feb - updated storyboard

After looking through our storyboard Katie and I decided to remove the India section from the memory book as we wanted emphasise the relationship between the two characters more. We did this by having key moments that the audience can relate with the characters.

Written storyboard:

BEGINNING:

- Start off old man looking through memory book
- Time is passing by> clock chimes> shadows changing as he has been sitting there for a while
- Old man heavy wheezy breathing Slips into “sleep like state”
- Colour aura forms
- The aura goes into book

- Book comes alive (transition into memory book)

BOOK:

WW2
- Shot of them in uniform, they look at each from the picture (Have other pictures of RAF, planes etc around the animation) Love letters, ending in proposal in letter

USA
- Picture of the couple in Time square
- Perhaps a shot of a dance club- surround it could be the advertisement like cards, posters etc
- Animated photo of Arthur at the bar (real photo) Photo of Millie nagging Arthur to dance with her Animated scene of them swing dancing together REVISITING
- Goes back to Time square> the couple are older than before> Millie looks fragile and very poorly
- Animated scene of Arthur trying to get Millie to dance but as he pulls her up she disappears/fades away (shot of the hands and maybe a close shot of Arthur’s face to show sadness?)
- Same shot of Time square but Arthur is now alone> maybe looks to his side where Millie should be...
- Shot of Arthur watching the Swing dance, unable to join in
Maybe the music could be really overpowering, and its all getting too much for him to bear?

ENDING:

- Then the book drops on the floor
- Shot of the old man sitting in the chair (subtle hint of the swing music from NY swing scene)
- Then a spirit hand appears in the frame (like the offering a dance gesture)
- Then the old mans spirit comes out of the body
- They are reunited
- They dance together like the NY scene

- The camera pans out of the window and can see them dancing together
